PATH crews are putting the final touches on the trail tunnel under Bouldercrest Road near I-285. The continuation of the South River Trail west of Bouldercrest will be constructed this fall. The tunnel was paid for with your generous donations to PATH. See the August 2012 PATH News for more details.

We are very excited to have a trail in our community. I look forward to seeing the progress and receiving more updates!
Thank you!
I am impressed at learning of the PATH Program. I have indeed heard of it but did not realize you guys were founders and developers. How very impressive. Thanks for renewing my belief in the giving inside of the human heart. I should love to volunteer at some capacity soon.
Thank you! Please consider becoming a member of PATH.
The tunnel is a little spooky right now, as it leads only to a hole in the ground, but I’m very happy for what it portends – the continuation of the trail.
One question – it’s somewhat confusing that this path is named South River. First, it is not particularly close to the South River. Second, it’s several miles separate from the Panola-Rockdale end of the trail that actually does closely follow the river (this fact makes the mile markers quite misleading as well). The body of water it follows is actually a South River tributary – Sugar Creek, so why is it not called the Sugar Creek Trail?
