The Chastain Park Conservancy and the City of Atlanta are partnering with PATH to complete the Chastain Park Jogging Trail across the northern side of North Fulton Golf Course. The project is out to bid which means construction will likely begin this winter.
The project consists of reconfiguring West Wieuca Road between Powers Ferry Road and Lake Forrest Drive to include a ten foot wide trail along the south side of the street. The road will be narrowed a few feet to make room for the trail and a vegetative buffer behind the curb. Park users also hope narrowing the road will slow traffic along this part of West Wieuca. Former Council representative Yolanda Adrean spearheaded the effort to secure Chastain Park Capstone city funding for the project. Present District 2 Councilman J.P. Matzigkeit retained the funding and made certain the project advanced to construction. The Chastain Park Conservancy and PATH split the cost of design and engineering. Your donations to PATH will also pay for PATH construction supervision.
